Manuscripts and cover letter may be submitted to the Online Journal System (3.2.1.1) at dashboard "NEW SUBMISSION"

Type of Paper

The Indonesian Journal of Limnology is an open-access journal containing original research articles, review articles, and short communications in the areas related to applied natural science.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscript should be prepare using common word processor software (e.g. Microsoft-Word ®), prepared in English language, type single column in Times New Roman font with size of 12, space of 1.5, page size of A4,  margins of 2.54 cm.

The submitted manuscript should comprise 2 files:
1. Front Matter: Title, Author list, Affiliation, Acknowledgments, Author Contributions, Conflicts of Interest.
2. Anonymous Manuscript: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, References.

General Considerations

Research manuscripts should comprise:

Manuscript Information: Title, Author list, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords

Mandatory sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Result and Discussion, Conclusions, References.

Additional documents: Supplementary Materials, Acknowledgments, Funding Information.

Review manuscripts should comprise the manuscript information, literature review sections and discussion. The template file can also be used to prepare your review manuscript. It is not necessary to strictly follow the remaining structure.

Title

Title information including:

Article title (maximum of 20 words), write in English.

Author name and affiliation, mark with superscript numbering 1,2, etc. of different author affiliations.

Corresponding author, mark with superscript asterisk “*”, this would be used to mark the email address of the corresponding author, above the all author affiliation

Abstract

Abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, methodology, main result and major conclusions. Abstract should not more than 300 words, write in English.

Keywords

Provide 3-8 words, using the same language as abstract. Avoid using multiple concept and plural term (e.d. ‘and’, ‘of’). These keywords will be used for indexing process.

Introduction

State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Materials and Methods

Provide sufficient material and instrumentation mainly used in the work. Provide detail of the research method to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.

Results and Discussions

Combination of results and discussion section used and should be clear and concise. This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Conclusions

The main conclusions of the study should be presented in a short Conclusions section.

Acknowledgement

Supporting grant, collaboration or institution can be placed in this section.

Supplementary data

Supporting data / information for online publication can be submitted in separate file of the manuscript.

Figure

Figure artwork (digital photograph, chromatogram, scheme) should be clear with minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Artwork or scheme prepared using Ms Word, Ms Excel or Ms Powerpoint should be saved as tiff or JPG to avoid miss layout. Please put the figures inside the manuscript according to the related text, do not place the figures separately in the last of the manuscript.

Figure caption

Ensure each figure has a caption, place below the figure, center alignment, sentence case and avoid to use the uncommon abbreviation. Use the bold font of the figure caption (e.g Figure 1).

Table

Use horizontal border on the table header and last line, without vertical border. Place the table caption above the table. Footnote (if necessary) should be place below the table, with smaller font size of the table font.

References

Citation in manuscript is written in “name and year” system; and is arranged from oldest to newest and from A to Z. Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley for referencing in the manuscript. In citing an article written by two authors, both of them should be mentioned, however for three and more authors, only the family (last) name of the first authors is mentioned followed by et al., for example Sulastri & Nomosatrio (2005).

References are recommended using reference management software i.e. Endnote or Mendeley in APA style. References should be listed at the end of the paper, and alphabetically ordered. Authors should ensure that every reference in the text appears in the list of references and vice versa. Only published or in-press papers and books may be cited in the reference list.

There are two types of references i.e. electronics sources and non-electronics sources. Formats for various types of references are as follows

Book: Author. Year. Title. edition, editor, Publisher, City, State or Country, Pages.

Part of book: Author. Year. “Title”, in Book. edition, editor, Publisher, City, State or Country, Pages.

Periodical: Author. Year. Title. Journal, volume (issue), pages.

Proceeding: Author. Year. “Title”, in Proceeding, pages.

Unpublished paper: Author. Year. “Title”, presented at Conference/event title, City, State or Country.

Technical report: Author. Year. “Title”, Company, City, State or Country, Tech. Rep. Number.

Formats for electronics source references are as follows:

Book: Author. (year, month day). Title. (edition) volume (issue). Available: site/path/file.

Periodical: Author. (year, month). Title. Journal. volume (issue), pages. Available: site/path/file.

Papers presented at conferences: Author. (year, month). Title. Presented at Conference title.]. Available: site/path/file.

Reports and handbooks: Author. (year, month). Title. Company. City, State or Country.. Available: site/path/file.
